How Did My First Day On The Fat Loss Program Go

by admin on March 26, 2013

The first day on my new diet and exercise program, went extremely well I stuck to my diet plan 100% and I also did my first weight training session of the week. Which if I am being perfectly honest with you I over did a little, because my shoulders, chest and stomach are feeling really sore this morning.

No weight training today, just 30 minutes of cardio on my exercise bike. Not looking that forward to the cardio part of The Fat Loss Program. But it has got to be done if I am to lower my body fat percentage. I enjoy lifting weights because there is a lot more variety in the workout.

When doing cardio the only variety is the pace at which you workout. I will be doing my cardio on my exercise bike which is located in a spare bedroom. I have set up a TV, which I will be watching during my workouts to help cope with the boredom.

I really do need to change my thought process on cardio exercise. I need to start looking forward to each workout, just like I do when I am weight training. One thing that I know for sure is I will need both forms of exercise, for The Fat Loss Program to work.

On the first day I ate the 6 meals that I had prepared for myself the night before. By preparing the meals for the following day I am more likely to stick to my diet plan. I also need to ensure that I have got all the foods that I need for the diet plan at all times. I CANNOT LEAVE THE KITCHEN CUPBOARDS EMPTY. Otherwise I may be feeling hungry and rang for a takeaway.

Because I haven’t dieted in a while, my body is full of waste and toxins and a good way to get rid of these toxins is to drink lots of water evenly spaced out throughout the day. I drank roughly 6 litres of water yesterday, I plan on doing this every day for the first week.

At next Monday’s weekly weigh in, I will not be surprised if my weight loss is near to double figures in pounds. This is because I am carrying lots of toxin waste and excess water in my body. Have you ever noticed the massive numbers the contestants get on the first weigh in on The Biggest Loser, this is all the toxins and excess water flushing out of them. I am not an expert on this by any means, but I can guarantee that the biggest weight loss I get in one week on The Fat Loss Program will come from WEEK 1.

I haven’t had the chance to take photos of the meals so far, but I will try to get round to it this week. I plan on using this blog to document everything I do to lose body fat and get down to my target body fat percentage of 10 to 15% body fat at 190 lbs.

My plan for today is stick to the diet plan 100%, complete 30 minutes of cardio, drink 4 to 6 litres of water and have a nice relaxing bath later to relax my aching muscles.

I may even allow myself a cup of coffee, yesterday I had a caffeine free day. Which was amazing for me, I’m the type of person who can go through a dozen cups of coffee a day. All this caffeine wasn’t doing my health any good, so I have decided to cut down on the coffee. Don’t think I will be able to fully give it up though. But I want to get down to maybe 1 to 3 cups a day.

I have tried the de-caf coffee and I don’t like the taste of it, so I will just cut down a bit. I think by drinking more water though,¬†this should help me to eliminate quite a few cups from my daily intake. I’ll keep you all updated of my progess for the week, as often as I can.
